Grass Weeds Control in Wheat Fields
There are many types of weeds in wheat fields, which can be divided into broad-leaved weeds and grass weeds. Among them, broad-leaved weeds mainly include: Descurainia Sophia, Shepherdspurse Herb, Convolvulus arvensis L., Lithospermum arvense Linn., Cirsium setosum, Chenopodium album Linn and Galium spurium L..
Grass weeds are commonly called malignant weeds in wheat fields. The main types of grass weeds are: Alopecurus aequalis Sobol, bromegrass, wild oats and Aegilops tauschii Coss. Among them, broadleaf weeds are easy to control, while grass weeds are more difficult to control.
The following focuses on the prevention and control techniques of grass weeds.
01 Why grass weeds called malignant weeds
① The seedling stage of grass weeds is similar to that of wheat seedlings.
② Grass weeds have more tillers and strong reproduction, which is very harmful.
③ After the vernalization stage, resistance is very high, and it is not easy to kill.
02 Best time to control
After the wheat is sowed and enters the three-leaf stage, at this time, most of the grass weeds and broad-leaved weeds in the wheat field have emerged, it is the best time to use herbicide, because the weeds are small at seedling age, have low resistance, and can be controlled easily.
03 How to use herbicides
Grass weeds in wheat field mainly include Alopecurus aequalis Sobol, bromegrass, wild oats and Aegilops tauschii Coss. Different weed species should use different herbicide. Currently no single herbicide can simultaneously control all grass weeds.
① Wheat field with more Alopecurus aequalis Sobol
Should choose herbicides such as Clodinafop-propargyl, Pyroxulam, and Fenoxaprop-p-ethyl should be used
② Wheat field with more Aegilops tauschii Coss
Herbicides with mesosulfuron-methyl should be selected.
③ Wheat field with more bromegrass and wild oats
Herbicides such as Pyroxsulam and Flucarbazone-Na should be used
④ Wheat field with mixed weeds
Formulation mixture or single formulations should be used, or single formulations can be sprayed at intervals of several days to control weeds separately, pay attention to avoid phytotoxicity from too many herbicides use.
04 Precautions
① Best to use herbicide to prevent and control weeds after the three-leaf stage of wheat
② The average temperature should be above 10 degrees.
③ When there are many types of weeds in the field, it is necessary to distinguish the priority and control the main weeds. Do not add all the herbicides to the sprayer at the same time to prevent phytotoxicity. You can also spray in several days at intervals control.
④ Spraying should be done when there is no dew, do not spray on windy days.
⑤ Do not increase the dosage, first prepare the mother liquor and then mix it into the sprayer before spraying.
⑥ Respray or missed spray is not allowed, and the remaining liquid should be properly handled.
